We came back home this week to photograph Kelsie and Paul’s stunning wedding day at Younger Ranch here in Colorado Springs. You might remember them from their Red Rocks engagement session only a few months ago. Kelsie actually found us on google after searching for someone who did a limited amount of weddings with great reviews! She reached out, it was an immediate match, and we are so glad that she did.
I arrived at the ranch around 2:00 where we started with shots of the dress, some beautiful wedding details, and Kelsie getting ready. We LOVE these kind of detail shots. Her pearls and earrings were so beautiful and classy, and her “something blue” shoes were so fun! BUT, my favorite part of the whole day, was watching the bridesmaids pray over Kelsie before the first look. They were prayers of blessing, long-lasting marriage, love for each other and love for The Lord, and peace on their wedding day.
We then headed to the first look. Kelsie walked up behind Paul, tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around with the sweetest smile and gave her the biggest hug. They just rested their foreheads together for a while to soak up the moment and emotions they were feeling.
It was then time for PORTRAITS! Kelsie and Paul both killed it because they are SO in love with each other. They were so giddy and couldn’t stop laughing! My favorite thing was when Paul picked up Kelsie and carried her to the next photo location.
While everyone was waiting for the wedding the girls decided to have a dance party in the bridal suite!
Then it was time for the wedding, and what a blessed ceremony it was! It was a little colder and more overcast than everyone expected before the wedding started. But, the timing was perfect because when Kelsie walked down the aisle the sun came out and warmed everything right up. Kelsie and Paul wrote their own vows and also took communion together as their first act as a married couple. It was touching to see their dedication to God on their wedding day.
Then it was time for the reception where there was dancing, incredible food, and lots of laughs in the gorgeous barn. The NEW Mr. and Mrs. Weber were introduced for the first time under a sword arch which was incredibly cool.
As they walked around and greeted their guests one-by-one you could tell that they are SO loved and have such a wonderful community surrounding them. After dinner, it was time for the toasts and cake. The quote that I remember from right before the cake cutting was…
“THIS is the moment when we decide if it’s going to be a fun marriage or a boring marriage…”
At that point, Kelsie shoved cake right into Paul’s face! There was laughter all throughout the room. It was a highlight of the night for sure.
Then it was on to the dances–always one of the most emotional parts of the night. By the way they were dancing, spinning, and twirling, you could tell Kelsie and Paul had practiced for this night. And they ended their dance with a nice dip and kiss.
The father daughter dance appeared to be your typical father daughter dance until the music switched and Kelsie and her dad broke out in an incredible montage of dances!
Paul and his mom danced afterwards, and you could tell she was so proud of her son and so happy for him on his wedding day.
